The Red Devils Hooker Was An Emerging Rugby Star
Logan Holgate had followed in his older brother’s footsteps to make a distinct impact in the sport.
The talented hooker followed his family tradition in representing the Lions, hot on the heels of big brother Ellison and younger brother Fletcher.
Logan first caught attention in 2021 and had his Lions debut for the U-16s in a win over Wales at Colwyn Bay.
His burgeoning club form helped him come firmly into the plans of the Under 19s selectors, impressing in trials before making it to the final touring squad that created history last September in Italy.
“He was a virtual ever-present during the exhausting six-game qualifying day, impressing teammates and staff with his work ethic, infectious attitude, and quick humor,” his team wrote.
Logan helped England win the Under-19 European Championship title in 2022. He played superbly in the Semi-Final and the Final as the Lions beat Wales before defeating France for the Championship in dramatic and emotional scenes.
“He leaves a lasting legacy on the program and staff, a brilliant young man and teammate,” the team remembered.
An online fundraiser is created to help Logan’s’ family. The GoFundMe has raised over £15,870.
