Fans Reaction to College Football Playoff Selections

It was announced Sunday that Michigan was the top team in the playoffs. The Washington Huskies were the second-ranked team in the playoffs. Coming in third was the Texas Longhorns. The fourth-ranked team brought some controversy as the Alabama Crismon Tide took the last spot after upsetting the number one Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game.

What made the Alabama selection get questioned by fans was the Florida State Seminoles going undefeated and winning the ACC Championship Game Saturday. The concern was that without quarterback Jordan Travis being healthy for Florida State, the Seminoles might not be as competitive as Alabama would be as they are healthier.

Travis himself took to social media to defend the ‘Noles.

devastated. heartbroken. In so much disbelief rn, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!

This sparked a lot of fans talking about their disappointment that Florida State was left out.

I’m not FSU fan but they did everything they were asked to do and still got the shaft. This is a total SEC bias here

Some fans believed the committee got the right four teams in the College Football Playoff.

Yes, because they don’t have a quarterback. They would’ve been a double digit underdog to anyone in the field.

Absolutely.

Resume v Best team

Florida State is not the same team without Travis. Bama has become a top 4 team since losing to Texas.

Last year of complaints tho.

There were even those who were calling for the new playoff format should have been brought in earlier.

No better proof than this year that the 12-team College Football Playoff is the correct move going forward.
